Takatoku toyline always interest me and this is not exception. I have yet to possess a Takatoku 1/3000 scale SDF-1 but this recent buy is a good start. Unlike the bigger version, this toy can't be transformed into the battleship and stands only 8". I bought it on Ebay and I would say the toy is still in pristine condition. There's only little shelf-wear on the box, stickers unapplied, joints are tight and no yellowing. Fun-factor would be the tip of Macross cannon that has got spring action shoot-out. The small parts were originally sealed in plastic sachet but I took them out to play. Ha! Ha!

as a serious collector u take care of every single detail !!! this figure looks great (though it seems more a toy than a collection figure in all the sense of the expresion... but why we sould be that finicky...) another valuable acquisition =O congrats !!!
can this transform to the ship mode?

Toys from the 80's were really made with the intention for play and to last. I guess they lack detail in the sense.

Can't bro! Only in this mode.
kjakajkajkajkajkajkajkaja... like my Captain America LOL... then this is a piece of japanese vintage, uhmmm... in the d other hand, i appreciate when the boxes of my orders arrive in mint condition, but if that’s not d case (& sometimes that happen...) i dun care, if the piece itself is in mint condition... =)... uhu, & yup, sometimes i play with my toys :DDDDDDDDD
Ha! Ha! Most vintage toy ain't very ani-correct or the correct proportion! I guess the limited number available gave it a push on its value.
No school like the the old skool. Looks like a very rugid toy to take the brunt of all the play it would get and some fun action features.
Liking the video you discovered.
absolutely, vintage has its own & special charm & yes d old toys were made to last & to suffer d use & d abuse as well... & yup again, usually those items r scanty & their value is not only sentimental (& many cases they r more expensive than equivalent new toys...) =O
I guess this is the mother ship for Macross, right?

Even Takatoku had closed down, the toy has withstand the test of time.
