Though Bardock isn't on the main stream DBZ television series, he is a character getting a lot of popularities even since having his own OVAs and having that "Back to the Future" side story earning the legacy of Legendary Super Saiyan and killing Freiza's ancestor Chilled! There is few figurines of Bardock however him in Super Saiyan form is super rare, thanx to this is a special installment of SHODO series. I only feel that this candy (my daughter ate the candy heehee) toy figure an approximate 95mm (3.75 inches) tall is kind of small IMHO. Because of its size, it fitted well with my nicely imported Namek backdrop and the Bandai effect energy aura parts to give it a prefect setting.
High quality molding and an impressive number of articulation points allow for dynamic action posing to replicate scenes from the anime and includes interchangeable hand parts. Nice sculpt to the Super Saiyan hair with the gloss and glow. Bardock had that serious or rather pissed of look, showing those angry towards any Freiza looking creatures. Feel the wrath of Super Saiyan my friend! A defined scar on his left cheek which is a constant reminder of his Oozaru menaces on 'Planet Meat'. Well, Bardock still kept his Saiyan tail wrapped around his waist. Here's a backstory on the red head band worn by Bardock after the Saiyan genocide. Vowing to avenge his four allies, Bardock removed the white armband of his dead comrade and best friend Tora, after the band was soaked in blood. Bardock tied it across his forehead, providing an emotional backstory for one of Bardock's most recognizable physical features.

This is a beautiful figure from a rather secondary character in the Dragon Ball timeline, but definitely one with an interesting story behind... I love the fact that being a small figure, pretty much the size of a gashapon or slightly taller, it features points of articulation and I still have in my collection a figure similar to this one, but from the Knights of the Zodiac franchise, it’s kind of delicate and complicate to pose, but you don’t find an articulated figure of this size easily !!!... =D

I really like Bardock and amazed that the anime can pulled it off with a continuation to his story when he was supposedly dead and big bomb shell to travel time and been the legendary Super Saiyan! Bardock is second to Broly in terms of popularity in DBZ movie story IMHO and I feel there will be more of Bardock's figure to come. I hoping there will be statue of Super Saiyan Bardock in a bigger scale! Fingers crossed...
Those effect pieces really make the character looks powerful...
Oh yes! I forgotten to help credit to the Bandai effect parts and the back drop. Yeah!
