Street Fighter Gouken Figure

SOTA action figure of Street Fighter is always my preferred choice and today's featured toy would be an 8" Gouken produced in 2006. Better known as the master of Ryu and Ken, Gouken imparted his skills of Hadouken, Shoryuken and Tatsumaki Sempyukeyu. Sculpt of this Gouken figure resembled more of how he appeared as in Street Fighter Alpha, a non player character at that time, more as a background character.

There's actually 2 versions released by SOTA. Mine of the normal version and another is the Battle-cry version. The difference are the head sculpt. Pretty decent sculpt in my opinion and articulation for basic stunts. Unfortunately, it has no extra hands apart from the clenched fists. Well, you can still swap hands of other SOTA action figure like what I had done. The only gimmick is the effect part that can be attached to the hand demonstrating flaming Shoryuken.

Akiba Culture Zone & Mottainai Flea Market

There were really so much to blog about my Otaku trip with Agent 'S' and I hope you are still following. This post will cover our findings @ Akiba Culture Zone and Mottainai Flea Market....

Akiba Culture Zone is a 6-storey-building packed with Otaku stuff with the first two level with manga and anime related books and magazines (K-Books). Moving up, we were thrilled to find toy shops and the fatal attraction would certainly be those sale cabinets. Lotz of toys from new to pre-loved, even custom built Gunpla. Look carefully, you might find gems you had been searching or perhaps a good deal of some sort. There's also 'Big Smile' Cafe at the top most level for munchy and at the same time, admire the figures under 'Big Smile' license.

My apologies for not including our coverage on Mottainai Flea Market during my previous posting on UDX anime center. Mottainai Flea market takes place about once a month, on a certain Sunday, outside the UDX building near Akihabara station. It's open concept and only possible during good weather. Agent A and I would lucky enough to experience it. I remembered the weather was still pretty cold for me but the loot were awesome!

Soft Vinyl MS-06 Zaku II Banpresto

If you wonder what this chunk of green stuff is, it's obviously not Incredible Hulk but Banpresto's version of MS-06 Zaku II by soft vinyl material. Manned to look massive standing taller than 13", lack in details to look like those you see in the very first Gundam OYW anime. I have put a 1/100 scale MG Zaku beside so you can gauge the size.

I got mine loose online from the pics, you can tell this battle weary Zaku had gone through some harsh treatment ^_^. Anyway, box-art was from internet source. Even the spike on the left shoulder was broken and so I had patched it up with Gunpla part. Hmmm... Maybe it added some realism to the Zaku  on battle-damaged.

There's only 7 points of articulations including the head so basically the figure is primarily in its standby pose inside hangar. The authenticity mark is situated at the heel of right leg. It does come with any weapon or accessory. To make the pic more interesting, I added in RC T-34 RC tank and Zabi Garma figure.

Tokyo International Anime Fair 2013 Finale

Just to sum up my visit to Tokyo Anime Fair 2013 with some of these random pics starting from some toys from the past for nostalgia. Next we look at more LBX series coming after these small and powerful mecha' first big hit. There were some really cool human-sized anime character statue which I especially like Toei anime fusing Dragonball Z, One Piece and Toriko in one movie. There was Doraemo show and many other mascots which most unknown to me (anime is so vast). One very interesting backdrop I saw was 'Patlabor'. I'm thrill to like that new movie will be released come 2014 and I'm one individual who likes Ingram a lot. More pics of anime set cookies, so agent 'S' and I bought some and took the chance to take pics with those kawaii maids selling cookies. Who won't buy cookies from them ^_^ Moe Moe Q. I had also stopped by Kotobukiya booth for some western toys or should I say statue.
