H.O.T.D Highschool of the Dead DVD

I have watched numerous movies on undead apocalypse but on anime, there’s none as good, other than ‘Highschool of the Dead’, thanks to Shoji Sato, the creator.

Like most zombie shows, it all began without reason and warning. This crazy catastrophic broke out banded an unusual group of high schoolers using whatever stuffs they could find in the premises from wooden swords, baseball bats, sticks to staple guns, just to survive. Slashing zombies killing action, stunning horror animation and jaw dropping ecchi scenes from this manga derived anime.

The disappointment would be that this short 24 episodes anime, is just a beginning chapter of the manga. I managed to get my hands on this anime in code 1 DVD by ‘Sentai Filmworks’. Comes in 2 discs, each contain 12 episodes, disc A with cover of Saeko Busujima and disc B with cover of Rei Miyamoto. Audio in English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 (English subtitles). Not too impressive special features include like cleaning opening and closing songs and trailers.

Toynami Masterpiece VF-1J Max & Miria TV Version

I usually make it a point to take pics of my toys before I sell or give them away. At least, as a record of my collection in the past. Even though this pair of love birds were no longer in my arms. I'm glad they found a new place to settle down in the care of another serious collector. Here's a collective shots of my previously owned Robotech Toynami Masterpiece Max and Millia in memories. Can call these pics, Katsuden director's cuts... Recapturing the epics moments of the blue and red in the world of Macross and Robotech...

Ys: Reah Trading Figure

Search for official series of first Ys trading figures collection is an uphill task and getting to Adol Christine is near impossible. I searched these figures for 3 years and finally got mine. I have now the lovely Reah and Adol. I will first review on Reah and save Adol for later. Good thing most wait. Hee! Hee!

Reah is one of the twin goddesses (Other half is Feena) on the floating island known as the ‘Fallen Paradise’. This figure is the image of Reah in the anime which is unlike in the later version in game, whereby she was given a more holy and angel-like illustration. Atelier Sai is the manufacturer licensed under Falcom. Each figure in blind box cost around ¥500 when first released. Available in different costumes as well as colored or metallic model. The popularity of the game and limited figure produced in quantity explained for the scarcity.

The PVC figure stands approximately 5” and come with a round plastic base and support stand. Well sculpt of Reah in her elegant red robe. The close-up shots shown great retails of the bangle on the wrist and the magical sliver hamonica she’s holding (Like she’s holding a cell phone ready to ask…Lolz). Light blue long straight hair to the waist with some worries in the eyes.

Singapore Gundam Mid-Year Challenge 2012 Exhibition

I was at Takashimaya today only to buy my favourite Japanese fried noodle when I bump into 'Toy Universe 2012' carnival at the basement atrium. It came as a total surprise to even know that there is a section dedicated to Gundam with awesome display of artifacts done by Singapore-based Gunpla builders. I wasn't expecting this as I was actually on my way to work, so I didn't have luxury of the time to take note of the categories and builder details. All I could do was to take machine gun snap shots of the showcase. I apologise for that and felt sorry for myself that I didn't even have the time to venture out of the Gundam section for other toys.

ps: Toy Universe 2012 @ Takashimaya Square from now till 24th June 2012...
