Vocaloid Diva Hatsune Mike @ AFA 2011

The fame of Hatsune Miku is truly unstoppable to an extend that she's practically at every corner of AFA 2011. This Vocaloid is bigger than just a game character now, she has arisen to a virtual idol who is able to even hold live concerts. This phenomenon reminds me of 'Sharon Apple' in Macross Plus whereby virtual idol overshadowed real performers. It's amazing to see how Japanese culture had influenced us and brought us another step closer to realizing that foresight in anime. I'm not a fan of Haysune Miku yet (Not for now...Not sure in the future) besides listening to her catchy songs. Indeed a well-designed and marketed character that's definitely an eye candy at any anime events.

  1. Vocaloid is not a great success here like in other countries, but certainly this videogames’ character have some fans... i just love the second PVC statue of Miku (the one below the Nendoroid version) and i must confess that i was tempted to get a 14" doll of her, but i decided to put my feet on the ground LOL XD

  2. Ha! Ha! You region is too far for Vocaloid to reach. I'm also tempted to get the Miku figure you mentioned. I like the pose and how the hair goes with the flow. But I won't mind settle for one of a lower budget like the version by Banpresto licensed under SEGA.
