Initial D: Takahashi Brothers' Mazda RX-7 Miniature Cars

I'm not so much of a Grand Turismo gamer neither am I a motorcar enthusiast but watching Initial D is simply fascinating car drift plus catchy euro-beat soundtracks. I got hooked to Initial D when Willie lent me his dvd on Initial D: Stage One.

It is this anime that stirred up interest in many searching for old-skool Toyota Trueno 86 and for me, it's an introduction to many sport cars from different car makers. Apart from Takumi (the main cast), there are two other support casts in the anime who have been so cool that you will look out for.

Yes! It's the Takahashi Brothers (Ryosuke Takahashi and Keisuke Takahashi), leaders and soul of street racers team called the Red Suns from Mt. Akagi. They played significant roles in the anime and it’s no wonder my friend ‘Jun Jie’ bought these two miniature Mazda RX-7 used by these two brothers.

  1. hehehehe... now is my turn to begin !!! unlike u, i love everything that has to do with machines (cars specially but not exclusively) i’ve not seen this series but i heard something bout it... the mini-diecast r very attractive & detailed for their size (the logos r neat !) & the printed stand base is a perfect complement... =O

  2. Very fast response as always. Frankly, I find the 1st stage of this anime the best and I stopped after 3 stage. Those cars comes in blind trading box. Good thing the shop owner took them out from box to sell.

  3. I like stage 1 too but kinda lost me after that. I remember the driving part are generated by 3D computer graphics.

  4. You are so right bro! Those cars in 3D look spectacular during night race with astonishing brake lights effect. But the drawing of characters seems untypical anime style. Not quite used to it. Hee! Hee!

  6. Lotz of drifts in Initial D - You sure know a lot of street race cars. Talking about Nissan Fairlady, I have a colleague driving it and his car outshines the big boss. Wonder how his boss would think. Lol...

Now 4 or 5 months one issue. Sometimes, I even forget the story..Too long for the writer to think new ideas I guess..I have some mechandise and toys, will take photos and upload them in my blog one day :)

  8. We have a big Initial D fan here. I have mixed feeling when a comic or anime is on going too long and slowly. Some fans want to know the ending while others never want to see it end.
