Banpresto Zaku II F2 DX High Scale Model Figure

DX high scale Model MS-06F2 ZAKU II Figure Of Zeon that was previously owned by me. I had gave up this piece after having the MG Gunpla. A non-posable 1/100 Scale figure by Banpresto in 2008 as prize item I supposed. What attracted me was the enlarged armor on the shoulders and legs. The sculpt is neat and sharp. One obvious flaw would be the rifle is made of ABS and it tends to bend. Well, the solution is hot water or hair dryer treatment again. I had to do is using panel lining and additional Zeon water-slide decals. Also a norm for me to end with a matte top coat. For spraying top-coat using epoxy spray can, it's good to keep a distance of 20cm between nozzle and item. I had taken a pic of the figure before touch up for comparison.

Gundam The Origin I 'Blue-Eyed Casval' Singapore Screening

Just going do a short post today since I haven't fully recovered from a bad cold and still feeling drowsy under the influence of medication. Had a short meet-up with Ngee Khiong who had made a transit over to Singapore before flying off to the 'land of smiles' for vacation. Thereafter, Leon 'Open The Toy' and I had made our way to Golden Village Jurong Point for the movie screening of Gundam The Origin I 'Blue-Eyed Casval'. In fact, I only knew about the movie screening happening in Singapore a few days back. Either  I'm slow or the publicity ain't much. Unlike in Japan, we didn't have grand reception or set-up at cinema, apart from standing banner at the entry and free movie poster for movie goers. Gotten thank Leon for getting the pic of me with the banner.

Anyway, I managed to watch the first 7 minutes teaser of the movie before heading to the cinema and I would say the 3D effect was a lot more prominent watching on big screen. Not many action scenes from Gundam Origin I as the storyline focused more on the politics before Zabi family came into power, plotted against Char's father - Zeon Zum Deikun, declared Side 3 colony independence and eventually started the 'One Year War'. In short, it's a prequel of OYW whereby Char aka Casval took center stage. Even for a U.C timeline setting, the anime was not all serious with some comic relieves been insert and many would probably laugh seeing the young Ramba Ral. Crowley Hamon was also featured in the movie and she's total spy, I manned resourceful and intelligent. Last spoiler from me Nudity = fanservice from Kycilia Zabi ^_^

ps - Many thanx to Leon for booking the tickets and gifts (The crater base and Gundam recycle bag are awesome)

Kuroko no Basket : Master Stars Piece : Kuroko Tetsuya Figure

It's about time someone give basketball related anime some attention after 'Slamdunk' and 'Kuroko no Basket' now enters the court with a bang! The first two seasons of Kuroko no Basket' is really awesome as the story transit from a realism tactical game play to super athletic abilities. Still, the anime brought back good memories of my younger days playing basketball and getting this old butt back to playing the ball game he knows best! It's more maintaining fitness and shedding those love handles of mine.

Basketball player figure ain't really in my collection but seeing this Kuroko Tetsuya PVC figure waiver my will to resist. Especially this tall 26cm PVC figure (stands taller than the box when the legs are fitted to the torso) going at an irresistible price made it even harder to give it a miss. Thank you Banpresto for producing this prepainted Master Star Piece figure, for Crane King UFO catcher prize in Japan I supposed. Great sculpt of the boyish Tetsuya aka Shadow with good details on the face and the hair. Attired in his home ground white Seirin jersey.

Sharp paint job and could literally feel the texture of the basketball Tetsuya is holding. The sport jacket is an optional part so Tetsuya can either go with or without it. The figure is well-balanced so it can actually go without the translucent base that fastened to the ankle. Know what! I actually brought this figure to the basketball court I frequent after my comeback for this outdoor shoot.

Kuroko no Basuke Cosplay SEIRIN Basketball Jersey

Kuroko no Basuke, SEIRIN school Basketball school (Home), no.11 Kuroko Tetsuya jersey which I bought recently bought from 'Otaku House' hobby shop. Don't get me wrong, I'm not doing cosplay neither would I dare wear this to the basketball court. I will wear the top out for outing and shorts should be okie for basketball and other sports. Most people only wear their cosplay attires once for the occasion and thereafter moved on to other cosplay. It's common that fabric used were often of lower quality. I have washed the attire a couple of time and it still appears good. No out of shape or colour fade however the sewing is kind rough and with some overlapping. I made a comparison to the Masterstars Tetsuya figure and the jersey design seems different. This jersey I bought is closer to the season 2 jersey of the anime. To me it's more of a fun thing to wear and merchandise that I could relate to the anime ^_^

1/144 Gundam Gun-EZ LM111E02 Model Kit

Let's take a look at a vintage kit of another grunt unit from Mobile Suit Victory series, @ an inexpensive price of around S$10/-. Grade : NG from Gundam Series : Mobile Suit Gundam Victory. Don't be mistaken by its gung-ho look, this unit is descendant of the GM and piloted by mainly babes as a symbol of the League Militaire spirit! Made to model kit, the assembling is a breeze with few ABS parts and polycaps. Gun EZ is from the Victory Gundam series of model kits. All kits in this line come with weapons, stands and a scenery back card.Like all Bandai Japan models, the instructions for assembly are in Japanese, but they feature very clear, easy-to-follow pictures. Though 1/144 scale, it's the mobile suit is presented in a smaller size due to the fact that by UC0153, MS size had been down sized significantly.

The models are pre-colored and snap-together, so paint and glue are not needed to complete them. Then again, the drawback is that the plastic color tone is kind of lighter than what was seen on the anime. I had used TS-28 Olive Drab 2 Tamiya epoxy can spray. The kit comes with basic armament to the beam shield, beam rifle, bazooka and beam saber. Beam saber is one normal straight thrust and another slightly curved like swing down. Mould to the bazooka and rifle are hollow on one side so for serious modellers, putty is a good option. The set also comes with complimentary display stand.
