20th Anniversary Chogokin Gundam Prototype Color

Bandai really knows how to strike the iron while it's hot. The company came out with a lot of variants of the 20th anniversary 1/144 Chogokin Gundam RX-78-2. This prototype colour variant was part of MSV illustrated by Hirotoshi Sano. Produced in year 2001, the packaging of this gift-set is almost identical to the first 20th anniversary 1/144 Gundam RX-78-2 chogokin except the artwork. It was released as a limited edition so to so collectors, they might find collector's value in this gift-set.

'Lucky☆Star' Anime らき☆すた Raki☆Suta

Taking a step out of my comfort zone to watch an anime that's has no mecha, conspiracies or fight scenes. Wait a minute! There were some parodies on Lucky Star that spoofs @ Gundam, Full Metal Panic, Initial D and some other animus that amused me. Might seems like just an original light-hearted anime on a few Japanese girls going through High-school life but the unoriginal is the injection of true humor through their conversation, speaking from different perspectives on anime, Otaku & human behavior. Sometimes, I just feel that that the girls are mocking at geeks like you & I but can't help laughing over it. Watching 'Lucky Star' also gives me a better understanding of Japan culture as a whole.

MG 1/100 Scale - RGM-79C Powered GM (Conversion Kit)

I’m not sure Bandai would even released a MG Powered GM but I definitely can’t till that day now that Akocreation had come up with 1/100 scale Powered GM Conversion Plastic Model kit, making this unit featured in Gundam 0083 ‘Stardust Memory’ a reality in 1/100 scale. Well, my impatience, impulsiveness and lack skills in Gunpla and led me to many errors and areas which I had overlooked. So please excuse my lapses on this kit. Afterall, this is my first attempt on conversion kit. Apart from giving the kit an entire new coat of paint, I had also applied waterslide decals customed to RGM series (Also available @ Akocreation). As for panel lines, I used only pencil to draw. In case of lines drawn went out of alignment, I could still erase it off. Sounds amateur isn’t it? On a personal note, the completion of this 1/100 Powered GM gave great sense of accomplishment and it spurs me to try out more conversion kit on grunt units from Gundam series.

Background of RGM-79C Powered GM from 'Gundam Wikia'
The RGM-79C Powered GM was built in the year UC 0083 and stationed at Torrington Base, Australia where it was assigned to test pilot Dick Allen. The Powered GM had been tested in mock battles against multiple Zaku II F2 Types, typically ending in victory without Dick having pushed the machine to its limits. On October 13 the Torrington Base was attacked by members of the Delaz Fleet. The Powered GM would be sortied against the enemy mobile suits, and later sent out as a member of one of the teams sent after the Zeon mobile suits. The Powered GM was destroyed and its pilot killed during the pursuit.

K&M Macross Tomahawk MK IV Destroid Figure

For a budget toy which I bought loose for four Singapore dollars @ CSC fleamarket, this Tomahawk Destroid MK IV trading figure manufactured by Kaiyodo standing at approximately 3 inchs, has attained high standard for its excellent paintwork. I'm utmost impressed with the sharp imprint as well as the weathering colour tone on the toy. The figure looks great even with pics taken at close-up. Beside the paintwork, I was surprised that despite only having a couple of joints, they managed to allow the missiles hatch to be closed, rotatable arm barrels and waist. The remarkable joints on the lower portion of the toy actually allows it to take stances with legs apart & vise versa. Apart of K&M Super Dimension Figure Series 002, this figure was sculpted by Katsuhisa Yamaguchi (The creative force behind Revoltech).

20th Gundam Anniversary Chogokin GM

Released year 2000, this could be the first Chogokin GM made by Bandai. The metal components mainly on the chest and legs have given the toy the extra weight making it look and feel dense. The torso and lower parts of this GM probably takes the mold the 20th anniversary chogokin Gundam RX-78-2, given it a GM colour scheme and of course the GM head. The toy is also highly articulated with no problem posing in various positions. The toy also comes with the beam saber & hyper bazooka. But the best throw-in to this giftset is definitely the E.F.S.F support hovercraft 'Fanfan'. Looking @ Fanfan reminds me of its pilot Lieutenant 'Woody Malden' who perished when Jaburo was under attacked. Tragedy repeats itself when 'Woody Malden' died the similar manner like his fiancee Lieutenant 'Matilda Ajan' shortly after her death during the OYW.
