MS Igloo 2 DVD

The first MS Igloo converted me to accept Gundam series in the form of CGI. Sunrise had again brought back the realism of 'One Year War' and this time round focusing on the perspective from the Feddies. MS Igloo 2 is a 3 episodes OVA that tell the heroism on 3 different lieutenants respectively. Each time I watched MS Igloo, my heart felt heavy when seeing tragedy falling upon these courageous individuals. A strong message to remind us of the death & cruelty of war, whether you are a Zeon or Feddies, do you not bleed when you had been cut. Do you not die when you had been poisoned. Have we not learn that vengeance just bring more vengeance. Episode 1 tells a group of self-sacrifice E.F.G.F officers holding the line of defense only with anti tank projectiles against those 'Death God' Zakus. Episode 2 display the effectiveness of 61 Tank (double barrel cannons) in the hands of talented individuals with strong will to fight. Lastly in episode 3, I get to finally see GMs in action during the campaign of Odessa. Well, the GMs definitely ain't the heroes. Their show was stolen by huge prototype steel tanks.

MG RGM-79 Version 1.0

The RGM-79 GM is a simplified version of the RX-78 Gundam, designated for mass production. To reduce production costs, the GM is equipped with a simple cockpit block instead of a transforming Core Fighter, and its arnament consists of a single beam saber and short-range beam spray gun. Mass production of the GM doesn’t begin until relatively immense resources enable it to produce hundreds of these mobile suits in just three months.

Some of the nice features would be cockpit hatch can open to reveal the pilot within (but I did pay attention to painting the pilot), The legs contain booster units for use during atmospheric combat (I have painted it silver), The backpack cover can be removed to show the main reactor and maneuvering verniers (The small verniers explained the low thrustering abilities). With the waist mount latch, the beam spray gun can be stored on the GM’s hip.

What I like most about this kit is the uniquely bazooka back-mounted rack which allowed the bazooka to be stowed on it. If you switch to the usual backpack, the twin sabers can be attached.

Aaron's Grand Macross Collection

Time to draw the curtains for the moment of Aaron's ultimate Macross collection on 1/48 Yamato valkyries. When I first saw the first few pics, I thought this was Yamato warehouse storing Macross toy (Macross stacko reaching the ceiling). Unbelievable number of stealth valkyries and strike parts. There's lotz of valkyries available in the market but still the number of strike parts are never enough to cope and they are now hard to come by. Aaron had also displayed his toys neatly at those detolf shelves whereby spacious arrangement had brought up the elegance of these masterpieces.

Pokemon Minun Happy Meal Toy

I was procrastinating if I should inject such cutie stuff on this blog but its adorability made me go ahead with it (Just a short one if you don't mind). This is a Happy Meal Toy released in 2005 during the 3rd generation of Pokemon series. This is the first Happy Meal toy my wifee bought for Wenz and so it's exceptionally meaningful. It's remarkable how this toy had survived under the hands of my kiddos with the chip ejecting mechanism still working. Minun has a partner 'Plusle' and they both electric-type Pokemon alike Pikuchu.

HG Nu Gundam ( Metallic Coating)

You should see the childlike expression of Alfred when he showed me this HG Hi Gundam (Metallic Coating Version). It's priceless! Alfred recently gotten himself an awesome Gunpla cutter which he claimed would boost his Gunpla Meister level by at least 5. Lol.....Hence it gave him the drive to build this kit. Alfred had lent me his cutter and I agreed that the money was well invested. I too should upgrade my level. Hee! Hee! In actual fact, the cutter generates less sprue thus shortened the time needed for filing.

So much on the cutter, let's focus on the kit. It's no doubt Hi Nu Gundam is one of Alfred's favourite and definitely one of those stronger Gundams in U.C timeline, mainly contributed by those mind-controlled fin funnels. Its other weapons include head vulcans, beam saber, beam rifle and hyper bazooka. Even there's a lot of weapons, they are neatly arranged at the rear of the MS. Since the kit itself is metallic coated, there isn't much touch up required apart from applying those iconic Amuro Ray logo decals. Even though the kit is in 1/144 scale, Hi Nu Gundam towered over almost kits of the same scale. Most other 1/144 only reached Hi Nu Gundam's shoulder. This metallic coating version makes good memoir and certainly a tribute to Amuro Ray.

Funan ~ More than just an IT Mall

I visited Funan Shopping Centre today and had made an astonishing find. There's a new toy shop that's of quite an impressive scale. I'm not sure how long the shop existed, but it seems new from telltale signs like the staffs ain't too sure of pricing, they are still unpacking and arranging some toys. There's a lot of merchandises related to anime ranging from trading figures, Gunpla, statues, gasaphons, T-shirts, posh toys, jigsaw puzzle and other accessories.

At 'La Tendo', I could find toys from popular titles like 'One Piece', 'Dragonball Z', 'Gundam', 'Mask Rider', 'Ultraman', 'K On', 'World of Warcraft' and etc... So, look out for 'La Tendo' at level 5 as well as 'Cawaii Koohii' maid cafe that's just on the opposite side. Gotten ask Alfred along to patronize the maid cafe. Hee! Hee!

Not forgetting the pioneer toy shop 'Rapid Culture' also at the same level. If that's not enough, try walking to the building besides, 'Peninsular Plaza', go to basement 1 and you would be able to find 'Robo Robo' toy shop.
