Gundam Fiesta 2010

I'm still wondering why I had made such a blunder today going to Compass Point mistakenly thinking that Gundam Fiesta 2010 starts today. Since, I'm already there, I may as well loiter outside the venue to take some pics. So here's a preview before the actual preview. Lol...

The size of the venue is very much the same like last year. From a distance, I could see the Giant 1:1 Gundam hand at the stage area however it doesn't seem as big as I have imagined. Maybe it would be a different feeling when I see the 1:1 Gundam in Japan. Observing from a higher ground, I could see human size Unicorn Gundam inside the exhibition area.

Next, I walked around the perimeter and could a giant size capsule machine at the center. I wonder what was inside those huge capsules. Taking a glimpse from outside the main entrance, I saw lotz of nicely built PG Gundam on display as well as that big Zaku rifle that would just be handy to me. Hee! Hee!

As I move near to the purchasing counter, I had came across people asking if they buy the merchandises as well as the curious asking the staffs on their queries. There had been some gasaphons and trading figures already displayed on the shelves near the purchasing counter and so I went on my snapping rampage.

Compass Point is situated near to the extreme end of the country and my house on the other extreme end. I don't think I will return back to the fiesta. So I have put my faith on Leon of
'Open the Toy' to give a detail coverage of this year's Gundam event of the year. So bro, give me pics of more Gundam and don't forget the Gundam Image Girls too! Ha! Ha!

Slam Dunk – Sakuragi’s Jersey

Just finished watching Slam Dunk and so is my mood of playing basketball kicking in! Not only do I love the sport but also the humour this anime had installed. It’s especially so when Hanamichi Sakuragi, the so-called genius doing all those unbelievable, out of the ordinary stunts at the basket court. The storyline also has this realism that in life, you may not emerge the champion however could still excel and try to out do yourself to live your dream.

The impact of the anime on me was not getting the figurines but Shohoku basketball jersey. What a must have item for "Slam Dunk" fans. Ha!Ha! The jersey is made of 100% Polyester with Sakuragi’s name (on the back) and number nicely printed. I bought the away design (white scheme) cos it’s less common and beside that, I already had a red Chicago Bulls red training gear.

Transformers Darkwind TF Universe

This Darkwind is a Toy'R'Us exclusive and a variant of Silverbolt TF Universe. Hasbro had stand true to the cartoon by sticking to the original Darkwind colour scheme. The toy is handy and measures about 7" to 8" both in plane and robot mode. Transformation of the toy is pretty straightforward whereas one glance at the instruction manual you will understand the concept. I had let my son played with for a while and he got amused by the light and sound action produced by the toy. The rifle can be attached to the toy in plane mode. The rifle also served as a missile launcher with spring action. This Darkwind is courtesy of Jason Lim aka the guru of Transformers.

Robotech Mospeada Yellow Belmont Custom Painted Cyclone Rider

Upon seeing yellowing on the plastic of my loose Cyclone bike rider kind of upset me but this in turn created that motivational factor for me to customize it to something that was never in production by Gakken. Taking MegaHouse Yellow 1/15 Cyclone bike as a reference, I had unscrewed and hand painted the old Gakken figure. Upon completion, I used matt spray as a top-coat to remove the paint gross. I have also restored the peel off stickers by trimming of the worn off edges and used double sided tape to paste them back. A very interesting experiment that fortunately all turn out right. Maybe I could do a customization of Houquet et Rose in future. That would be a tough one. Ha! Ha!

Building MG Ez8 WIP

For some unexplained reason, my passion for Gunpla had reignited. Ha! Ha! Just bought this MG Ez8 a few days ago with this sudden rush to once again build it after having sold away my built MG Ez8 years ago ~ what an irony. Anyway, I'm lucky to find this kit @ Hobby Point before it goes extinct and it's even more delighting to know that the store is having a 20% discount. This time around, I won't spray the parts when they on tree but will focus on careful filing away sprues, assembling, panel lining, hand painting and giving the figure an overcoat when it's all assembled. Slow progress for a start.
