Ken Masters - Street Fighter PS2 Controller

While many are playing Street Fighter IV with their state of the art PS3, I'm still at the age of PS2. The many reasons why I didn't buy PS3 are that I have yet to complete many games on PS2 , I'm still waiting for price of PS3 to depreciate further and lastly, there are still a lot of games on PS2 which I still enjoyed a lot, especially Street Fighter Zero and Zero 2.

I still like playing Street Fighter Zero & Zero 2, a lot on PS2 because of the 2D display and this series has got a collection of cool characters like Dan, Ryu, Ken, Sakura and many others.

Having a Street Fighter controller is my secret weapon of winning. Ha! Ha! Main difference of this Street Fighter controller compared to typical PS2 controller is that the punch & kick buttons follow the layout of arcade machine. This Street Fighter controllers were launched in collaboration of Street Fighter 15th anniversary.

PS2 Street Fighter controllers have got a few characters to choose. They have Ryu, Ken and Chunli pack but mine is Ken. The controller has got hologram of Ken doing Shoryuken. It has got an official certicate of authenticity and comic book of Street Fighter by Udon.

One thing not so favorable about this controller is that it's not wireless, hence poses a problem especially with my active kids running around.

1/60 Scale Gundam F91

Here’s a re-blogged of Gundam F91 Mega Scale after I have taken newer pics of it. It’s a semi-toy as big as the DX scale version (around 12 inches). This collectible comes with a skeleton and self assemble armor frames like model kit (once upon a time before Perfect Grade). The one which I had assembled and put on display was caught with the disease of yellowing :(. Luckily, Jason sold me his at friendship price and so I have another piece that is MISB, still in shrink-wrap too! Hopefully, it is not rotting from inside out. Hee! Hee!

There was an occasion I find the badly yellowed Gundam F91 such an eyesore that I decided to give it a complete makeover. Hence, I bought a flat white spray white to work on. My first step was to remove the yellowing parts. Those parts that could not be removed, I had pasted scotch tape over the area, which was manned to leave untouched. I then sprayed the paint over them and carefully fixed the parts back.

At first, I thought I could chop chop finish the task. However, it required more patience then what I expected. The fact that I had to send my little Wenz for enrichment class in the evening, I had a rush through the process. There had been some flaws but personally I'm very please with the final product and it's definitely better looking now.

Mobile Suit Gundam G-Saviour DVD

As part of the 20th anniversary Gundam project almost ten years back, Bandai had attempted a brand new try of making a movie of Gundam with human casts alike Ultraman movies. Personally, I think it was a good effort but somehow it didn't have much impact.

G-Savour tells a story of an elite ex- military MS pilot 'Mark Curran' who was caught in a situation having to join the separatists in their struggle to save the earth and colonies from famine. The outlook of G-Saviour was like an adaptation of Gundam F-91.

In my opinion, the movie appeared of low-budget and the costumes & props looked like those rented from 'Starship Troopers'. The CGI movement seems blocky and moved in slow motion but there should be some credits given to the production crews for the used of CGI for a movie of that era. I would say the movie would probably appeal to purely Gundan fans.

Macross Robotech Destroid Tomahawk Matchbox Figure

Here's another SDF-1 destroid which I had bought loose at Excelsior hotel many years back. The manufacturer is of this destroid Tomahawk is Matchbox and toy is licensed under Harmony Gold ~ Robotech. Definitely lose out to the Yamato 1/60 version in term of detail and articulation. But this baby is very durable for a toy and the price has remain very affordable till now. There's still quite a number of these circulating on Ebay.

Burn-up Anime DVD

Managed to borrow this anime series from Mr K the last I visited his house. Just like me or should I say, just like him, both of us like DVD in code 1. For someone who set high standards for visual & sound effect, K has turned to blu-ray. Ha! Ha!

Back to Burn-up Excess and Burn-up W (OVA version), it’s a light-hearted action anime with lotz of chesty, booby, busty, or whatever you call it scenes. Story tells a group of Neo-Tokyo cops who operates out of the conventional policing system which they response directly to crisis situations, together as ‘Team Warrior’.

While searching the Internet for information on Burn-up anime series, I have made a discovery that this anime has a latest sequel known as Burn-up Scramble. Maybe there are al ot otakus out there who just can’t get enough of the blond and large-breasted bimbo Rio (main female character).

Macross Robotech Destroid Defender Figure - Matchbox

Decided to do retake the pics on this baby cos those pics taken previously were pretty lousy. Till now, I have yet to buy Yamato's 1/60 scale Destroid Defender cos I'm contented with the vintage version by Matchbox. The toy stands about 7" and it is solely made by Matchbox without using mold from other companies, when Harmony Gold obtained the license to distribute Macross as Robotech 1st saga in U.S .

Just like what you see in the pics, the articulation of the toy is extremely limited but the good thing about is that Matchbox had built the toy to last. I only have the toy in its loose state with stickers already applied so it looks good on display.

Macross Chronicle 37

One very special valkyrie featured this issue is VF-171 Ex. Awesome fusion of VF-25 and VF-17 that appeared during Macross Frontier timeline. VF--171 Ex has also add-on armour for extra protection. No news if this valkyrie will come in kit or toy yet. No toy reveal on this issue again but they do throw in some great pics. See you next issue!

Comfort Taxi Remote Control RC Car

You will see a abundant of Comfort Taxis along the streets of Singapore but it not common for you will see RC car in a form of taxi and especially not Singapore's very own Comfort taxi. This is only exclusively sold at Toys’R’Us Singapore, which my dad had bought my son. The best part is that I get to play it too! I remember when I was in primary school, my father used to buy me RC cars too and one that left me a deep impression was a pickup truck. RC cars were pretty expensive during my time but prices had depreciated over the years due to more advance RC toys like helicopter now available in market.

Gundam Fix Figuration G.F.F #0026 Gundam RX-79-2

Unlike Gundam Guy, I have one piece set G.F.F 0026 and hence needed to remove RGM armour before swapping to Gundam RX78-2, here you can see the amazing transaction to of RGM to Gundam. Though it may seems easy but it took approximately 10 to 15 mins to change the parts. Fingers were quite tired after that. Some reviews from collectors of G.F.F series is that the armour parts won't attached properly and may tend to drop. Fortunately, mine seems pretty ok!

G.F.F cost a lot more than MSIA, you are really paying for a detail sculpted figure with awesome paint works. It always pleasant to the eyes to look at clear sharp wording imprinted on the armour. I not too sure if some G.F.F comes with bent parts and antennas but I'm sure G.F.F pose better that MSIA.
