Here’s a re-blogged of Gundam F91 Mega Scale after I have taken newer pics of it. It’s a semi-toy as big as the DX scale version (around 12 inches). This collectible comes with a skeleton and self assemble armor frames like model kit (once upon a time before Perfect Grade). The one which I had assembled and put on display was caught with the disease of yellowing :(. Luckily, Jason sold me his at friendship price and so I have another piece that is MISB, still in shrink-wrap too! Hopefully, it is not rotting from inside out. Hee! Hee!
There was an occasion I find the badly yellowed Gundam F91 such an eyesore that I decided to give it a complete makeover. Hence, I bought a flat white spray white to work on. My first step was to remove the yellowing parts. Those parts that could not be removed, I had pasted scotch tape over the area, which was manned to leave untouched. I then sprayed the paint over them and carefully fixed the parts back.
At first, I thought I could chop chop finish the task. However, it required more patience then what I expected. The fact that I had to send my little Wenz for enrichment class in the evening, I had a rush through the process. There had been some flaws but personally I'm very please with the final product and it's definitely better looking now.

Wow...that is a very classic kit!! You have plans to ink the panel lines a bit? I think will really enhance the look :D
ReplyDeleteHaha enrichment classes ^^ I got to learn how to balance hobby and family time in the future when I have my kid :D
I didn't pay much attention to lining. Usually will use pencil to draw lines so that it's easy to rectify. Hee! Hee!
ReplyDeleteu r such a good "father" for ur "brand new F-91 son" LOL... u did a good job pal, i guess this is a rare "easy kit", cuz it has same scale than PG kit, but notoriously less detail & articulation points... in colour scheme, i still prefer the Harrison Madin version (deep blue & white)... u know, when u adopt a colleague’s toy, it’s like giv it a new home, so it has an special value... that was the case with my Medabots’ Metabee, so i know what it feels...
ReplyDeleteIt not easy repainting it and the result is worth it. Well done bro!

ReplyDeleteless detail & articulation compared to PG. But it's much cheaper than PG for something to display. I really salute you for the passion and pursue to toy collection.

Well, it's worth a try and it's really much nicer to the eyes now. Hee! Hee!
1/60 F91 O__o Antique kit!
ReplyDeleteI just rewatch F91 anime, It still looks awesome with its duplication technique. In some way better than OO
I have watched F91 a couple of times. The mech design is a appealing and the plot is nice. The ending story touched my heart too
ReplyDeleteAgree with chubbybots, if you add in panel lines, it enhances the look of the figure.
ReplyDeleteI think you guyz have very point. I will try the next the time. Cheers!
