Transformers ROTF

The late-comer has finally watched Transformers ROTF over the weekends. Actually, I have less anticipation for the 2nd TF movie than to the very first but I personally enjoyed this sequel more. This movie is of a faster pace, there are a lot of humorous dialogues and the 2 hours show makes it even more value for money especially during recession. The part when Jetfire sacrificed himself as parts for Optimus Prime was really really awesome. Just like most bloggers had given a review of TF ROTF, I too think this is a movie worthy of two thumbs up.

Other figures from Dragon Quest IV

I was looking for DVD of Dai no Daiboken, Dragon Quest Adventure Of Dai, however was not able to find this very first Dragon Quest story, which converted itself from manga to anime. But instead, I find another Dragon Quest anime on hero Abel.

This is one of the many anime drawn by Akira Toriyama, creator of the insanely popular anime series Dragonball Z, which explained why Abel looks so much like Goku. In fact, while watching the first 13 episodes of Dragon Warrior, I have noticed a lot of the characters and villains resembling those of Dragonball Z.

There isn’t an original DVD available so I only managed to get the VHS format mastered onto DVD. I have expected the poor resolution and sound quality, so no complaint. But the biggest disappointment would be the English dubbed 13 episodes isn’t a complete series.

Anime adaptation of Dragon Quest had become a popular ENIX RPG video game and a like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest already has many RPG series. I have not played any of Dragon Quest games but I realized something iconic about the anime & games would be the blue sacred stone possessed by the guardians and similar design of the crown worn by the guardian. Last but not least, the liquid droplet look-a-like pet.

Grumpy Doll!!!

Now on sale before GSS (Great Singapore Sale) ends is this Grumpy Doll! This is one of the many on display! Ha! Ha! Actually, this is something my colleague, namely Nadiah, had done previously to decorate our workplace notice board.

Every members from my team had to give their grumpy expressions and the final product is this Grumpy Doll which came packed and sealed. Our notice board had since been revamped and I managed to keep this doll as a souvenir. Definitely exquisite don't you think?

p.s - Thank you Nadia for the doll and your contributions to the team! This is really creative!

I'm actually waiting for Sheryl Nome statue to be out!

There's Macross Chronicle issue 23. In this issue, you will see valkyrie from Macross Zero and Macross 7. The toy featured in this issue are 1/100 scale valkyries from Macross Frontier made by Banpresto. I didn't have any of those cause each cost around S$60/- and I would rather used the money on 1/65 scale Chogokin.

Fusion Work Gundam

A set of six FW Gundam trading figures

The weapon set comes with Gundam chasis for interchange and addition weapon

Figure stands around 8cm

I'm trying to sell away these small Gundam figurines from U.C timeline via Ebay to make space for bigger toys. These are two different version of FW Gundam RX-78, Gundam NT-1 Alex, Gundam GP01, Gundam EZ8 & Ultimate Operation weapon set. These Gundam trading figures have minimum articulation but they are highly detailed. If I can't sell them off, I will remove them from card to take more pics. Ha! Ha!

Anime Price & Dubbed

It's good to see a saturation of anime in the market, which give fans more choices. Anime fans are not stupid and we know what's best for us. Reading reviews and intel from friends are good source to learn about the anime.

Price and having English subbed plays an important part. I hate to see dvd release with only a few episodes and price so high. It's a waste of money and storage. I will rather wait and go for the complete boxset later on. Won't even mind getting a pre-luv-ed dvd set.

The Japanese produce awesome anime dvd with very very nice packaging but only available in R2 Japanese dialogue. I have a few movie or short stories as a form of collection but anime maker should still spare a thought for fans outside Japan or else fans would eventually turned to downloading with fan-subbed or pirated anime dvd that comes with nice looking art box and fan-subbed.

I hope this is a wake-up call for anime makers to pull their socks and keep up the pace.

Can you find your anime heroes in this clip...
