GN-U Dou Macross Plus Figures

Wanted to cut down on toys but had succumbed to temptation again at CSC. Everytime I visit CSC, I would end up buying something even though I have nothing in mind to buy before going. So my recent purchases are these Macross Plus GN-Dou including YF-19, YF-21 and VF-11B.

This new range of mech figurines from Yamato seems like a strategy against Kaiyodo Revoltech. I have played both my GN-Dou & Revoltech YF-19 and the verdict is that I prefer GN-Dou. It's simply because the joints of GU-Dou figure can rotate smoother without any parts dropping and the figure stand more sturdily.

Another type of movie that I will watch during free time are military war movies. One which I particularly like and has added to my dvd collection is 'Saving Private Ryan'. This movie based on second world war was very realistic and the first part on invasion of Omaha beach had really taken war film to new height. The last part when everyone sacrificed for Ryan's survival was also very touching.

I have finally obtained a G1 Tatsunoko version Jetfire that is of absolute white with stickers unapplied. It has armors that are still in tip-top condition without any stress mark. With some mix and match, I managed a keep a pretty decent G1 Jetfire that is 100% complete. I will probably try to sell my other Jetfires to recover some money spent on toys.

Jetfire ~ Air Guardian of Autobots
In the many stories of Jetfire told through the numerous Generation 1 continuities, there is one constant aspect - an early alliance with the Decepticon, which has served only to convince him to side with the Autobots. Jetfire's dedication to the Autobot cause is matched only by his devotion to scientific and technological advancement - this, he believes, is the only way in which victory over the Decepticons can be achieved. It is this overriding belief that tempers his bravado in battle, but nevertheless, he is often one of the most eager Autobots to plunge into combat, and his position as one of the fastest usually means he is the first to do so.

The instruction manual & disc

The guidebook of Tear Ring Saga

I discover this game years back when I bought the copied version. I was indulged playing the game because it has so many similarities with Fire Emblem. The game is so enjoyable that I spent a lot of effort looking for the original version.

I was so desperate that it drove me to source the game from Ebay. I didn’t have Ebay or Paypal account then so I had asked my best friend for help. This incident also spurred to explore the world of Ebay.

I did some read up on the ‘Tear Ring Saga’ and found out that the creator is this game is also the creator of ‘Fire Emblem’ game series. This tells the similarities of both games. Tear Ring Saga is turn-based strategy game was created by Shouzou Kaga after he left Nintendo. If not for Shouzou Kaga departure from Nintendo, I don’t think fans of knight fantasy turn-based strategy game can play such top-notch game on Playstation.

Many Fire Emblem fans had criticized ‘Tear Ring Saga’ as a cheat-copy of ‘Fire Emblem’ and Nintendo even sued ‘Tear Ring Saga’ developer ~ Tirnanog. Well, Nintendo lost a first and won partly after an appeal. That’s the reason why the sequel of ‘Tear Ring Saga’ had a slightly different map display.

I must really give credit to the game play and level of difficult of the game, especially if you want to obtain all the characters and special items. This is one Japanese game that would drive you crazy. The game is very popular among fans of knight fantasy turn-based strategy game so much so that someone had translated and emulated the game to PC in English version. Isn’t it cool!

Have you wonder how Yamato 1/60 VF-1 Ver.1 was transformed and how imperfect the transformation is? Just take a look at the instruction manual and you will find out. It's imperfect when you have to take out the legs during transformation. Apart from this, the version also lost out to ver. 2 in term of detail and articulation.

Launch Strike Gundam 8"

Part of my Gundam collection is this 8" Launch Strike Gundam which I got from US Ebay. Don't be mistaken that it's a MSIA because the size is about the same as Gundam action figure from 'Arch Enemy' toy series. I don't see any selling in Singapore so I presumed it's quite rare here. Since my wife had already wrapped up the box, I shall leave the figure MISB.

A full page on Macross

Happen to find this article on Macross published by 'Gameaxis' magazine June 2008 so I scan it for all the Macross fans out there. The editor had expressed his interest on Macross after been exposed to Macross Frontier and whereby he revisit the classic Macross series.

Just came from CSC and today is more fun than last week. Apart from helping Jason, I had also tried to sell some of my toys there. Here's a loose Yamato 1/72 YF-21 with weapon, antenna and other accessories missing. I sold this dude together with my loose 1/60 VF-1S VF-1S Ver.1 to a nice buyer who shared his thoughts on toys with me. He had encouraged me to continue collecting more toys.

It was also a pleasant surprise to meet Desmond ~ 'Desmond Collection' and Adrian ~ 'Little Plastic Man' @ CSC. This is the first time I get to meet both these blogging comrades and we had spent some time interacting verbally. So glad to have both Desmond and Adrian approaching me and give their support at the booth. Nice chit-chatting about toys! Life would be really boring without toys!

My colleague had lent me this VCD titled 'Appleseed'. This science-fiction movie talks about the war wages between human and clone and in the sense portray the dark aspect of human nature. Well! There is good in human and 'Appleseed' probably want to tell us that human and clone can co-exist.

The CGI used in 'Appleseed' is speculate and the plot and character design is very interesting. So much so I wanted to buy the DVD and toys related. 'Appleseed' is indeed very cool!

The plot:
Earth's last city, Olympus, rose from the ashes of a global war on the backs of Bioroids, artificial clones who make up half the city's population. Under the strict guidance of a supercomputer, humanity's last survivors enjoy an idyllic peace, but only on the surface Human terrorists within the military seek a return to power and clash with the government's ESWAT forces lead by the legendary soldier, Deunan Knute, and her boyfriend who is 75% machine.

This issue is going to be Mr's K favourite because he is always talking about VF-1S Max DYRL version. He was so excited when Yamato announced that they are going to come out with a 1/60 perfect transformation VF-1S Max DYRL version. Another thing special about this issue is the news on upcoming Macross apparels which I can't wait to own one. I would sure wear my Macross T-shirt to CSC to give my support as a fan if I have one. Hee! Hee!
