KO 1/55 Red VF-1A

Pretty nice packing I supposed

Instructions on the back of the card

The right leg is pink and left leg is red. Not spring mechanism for the landing gears.

Having hard time posing the toy due to the loose joints.

The chest was ripped apart! I'm Incredible Hulk!

It's like conducting post mortem!

The cockpit supposed to light up when you pressed the black tiny button near the front nose, but it didn't work!

The front landing gear broke

Stickers kept dropping during transformation. Don't even bother to transform this junk to gerwalk.

The tail fin broke!

Messy wiring for the added light-up feature

Recently bought a pair of KO 1/55 valkyries on Ebay which I felt so strongly about blogging them. The first one is this red VF-1A. First, I didn't inspect the toy carefully and had failed to realise that the tip of the gun pod was already missing when the toy is still MIC. The stickers were loosely pasted and the joints were extremely flimsy.

These were not the worst thing which yet to come. I must say I'm not someone who goes rough on my toys but the transformation was disastrous! The chest chassis broke, the front land gear broke, and the tail fin broke and finally the toy went to the rubbish bin.

Gundam 08th DVD Boxsets

Content of code 1 version boxset

This Gundam anime is worth watching again and again which I think it is classic Gundam anime. Gundam anime nowadays which comes with fanciful and super duper power. This anime tells a lot about teamwork, sacrifice, courage and love. It's realistic and the strategic in battle is intriguing.

I have both the Hong Kong version as well as the original code 1 DVD boxsets. The HK version is in Japanese language + Chinese/ English subtitles. The code DVD by Bandai is in Japanese/ English dubbed + English subtitles. The code one also comes complete with additional OVA like Miller's Report.

Not all would share the same sentiment as me especially those who know Gundam through Gundam Seed onwards cos Haro told me this anime is too old and had returned the DVD back to me after having watched only a few episodes. Sad!

Anime description (I got from Ebay):
Anime's most popular and enduring series continues with MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM: THE 8TH MS TEAM. In the midst of the One Year War between the Federation and the Zeons, Shiro Amada has been placed in charge of a squadron of prototype Gundam suits used for ground combat. As the squadron has a series of deadly encounters with the Zeons, they come to learn that the terrain and their malfunctioning can be just as dangerous as their enemies. But little do they realize that the greatest threat may come from a betrayal within, as their leader Shiro has fallen in love with Aina Sahalin, an enemy pilot. THE 8TH MS TEAM is a grittier, more realistic GUNDAM series that concentrates on the harsh conditions of battle, reminiscent of a war film rather than the STAR WARS style action of the other entries. This COLLECTORS EDITION BOX SET contains all twelve episodes collected on five discs.

I have recently bought a loose Megahouse Mospeada Cyclone bike (Yellow version) for display. With great thanx to Mr. K, my loose toy had found a box and new insert tray. I have taken some pics of the toy. I quite satisfied with size of the toy as compared to the one by CMS but transforming this dude requires a lot of patience. There are a few small parts to remove during transformation and the joints are rather delicate. Excess force applied could break the joints on the bike.

In my opinion, I find the toy nice on display but no exactly fun to play with. I had spent most of my time referring to instruction manual. Another problem would be making the toy stands on its own after the armour was donned (without relying on the stand).

Macross Chronicle 6

The following issues of Macross Chronicle were so fast recently that I hardly could catch up posting. Have just passed issue 6 and 7 to Mr K. Like I told you guyz previously, Macross Chronicle issue 6 is packed with valkyries sketchings. Enjoy!

Inside of boxset

Sorry for the slow posting cos I'm held up with work commitments lately. There's an animation on knight fantasy that I would like to recommend. I got this VCD box set in KL two three years back during my last visit to KL Malaysia. Good thing about this VCD is that it is both Japanese and English dubbed.

I would say it is a comically funny anime which talks about a mage (Louie) who used more brawl than brain while on his adventure with three ladies (cleric, warrior & thief). It's hilarious and sure to give you a lot of laughter from episodes 1- 24. Thinking of getting the original code 1 DVD. Ha! Ha!

Movie description:
Created by Ryo Mizuno (RECORD OF LODOSS WAR), the well-pedigreed anime television series RUNE SOLDIER injects a playful war between the sexes into its irreverent fantasy-comedy hybrid. Three superpowered women--martial artist Genie, priestess Melissa, and master thief Merrill--make their living raiding treasures from ancient ruins. When the trio set their sights on a ruin guarded by a magic seal, they decide to hire an experienced female magician but end up with a clumsy male novice named Louie. Saddled with this inept newcomer, the newly minted quartet embark on treasure-seeking adventures that dip into slapstick territory without losing any of their fantastical elements. Funny and action-packed, the anime series is presented in its entirety with this 24-episode collection.

FW Gundam GP01

Front view of card

Back view of card

Another Gundam gasaphon I have for Fusion Works Mobile Suit Gundam Ultimate Operations that is still mint in seal card is this Gundam GP01. This gundam was featured in the anime 'Gundam Stardust Memory 0083'. Trust me, I guarantee this is one of the best Gundam anime ever made. This Gundam is attached to Albion Pegasus carrier after GP02 was stolen from the Feddies in Australia. Without the afterburner thruster Fb and space calibration, this is a ground type MS.

FW Gundam Alex

A Gundam gasaphon which I plan to sell away. This is Gundam RX-78NT-1 (Alex) featured in 'War in the Pocket', 0080 U.C timeline. It's a prototype Gundam for new type human, equipped with the standard beam rifle, head vulcan and beam saber. An addition unique lethal weapon hidden is the built-in machine gun on the forearms. That's the weapon that destroy Kampfer.

Rondo of Swords DS

Front cover of game

Back cover of game

Instruction manual and cartridge

Not only do I like knight fastasy anime, I loved to play knight fastasy related games as well. I'm currently playing Rondo of Swords on DS Lite. Rondo of Swords is an improvisation of turn-based strategy game which allow the character to gain attack/defense power or healing when passing by his/her comrades before slaying the enemy. The game has much resemblence with games like Fire Emblem. The characters design are fabulous with nice touch of 2D drawing of the characters in shining armour. The knights in this game reminds me of Record of Lodoss War.

Thanx to my new camera, I'm able to take a close-up view of the tiny pilot and cyclone bike backpack

Here's my Toynami Green Alpha fighter piloted by Yellow/Lancer. Actually, the green Alpha fighter is a general-purpose-fighter mecha used by lower ranking pilots which most of the time got shot down by the invid.

Toynami had limit the production volume of each type of Alpha fighter to 15000 sets to make the toy more precious. In fact, it is now quite difficult to find Toynami Alpha fighters nowadays. It is introduced as a masterpiece boxset and the packaging is in a form of book cover. I must say the packaging of this toy is very well designed.

The toy has some metal components alike chogokin which give the toy extra weight, making you feel that your money is well spent. The quality of the plastic is good and would not broke easily. The toy is not too flimsy during transformation and it's pretty posable in battroid mode.
